Trifles, A Modern Day Confectionery was conceived in July of 2000 and was born in April of 2001. Like every good chef/owner/mother, Gwen had been hoping, planning and preparing for her Trifles’ child for a very long time.
Today, you are meeting Trifles as a rambunctious 7 year old. In the early days, Trifles crawled, stood and now impetuously runs. Trifles’ repeat business and word-of-mouth reputation has helped the company to grow and thrive. It takes a village to raise a child and it also takes a village to raise a small business, for which we are very thankful.

Trifles is happy to announce the addition of our newest cake designer: Megan Harris.. Megan is a graduate of the CCS College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Megan blends her fondness for pastry and baking with proven and extraordinary talent in art and design.

We keep a permanent part-time staff of approximately 6 people. Trifles is always seeking talented, energetic people who enjoy working as a team to produce delicious & creative sweets and a light savory menu. (See our staff)

Our stores are located in a comparatively provincial setting, on an isthmus, across from a swamp. We never know who will walk in our door, and we like it that way.
